Building your Confidence Muscle

Confidence isn't something you're born with, it's something you build. It is by taking action and stepping outside of our comfort zone that we find our confidence. As daunting as it may seem, remember that every little step counts towards building your confidence muscle. So don't be afraid to take that first step, you might be pleasantly surprised with the results!

But, how do we build that confidence muscle? Just like building actual muscles in our body we have to "work out" and take consistent action to make sure that our muscles get stronger. So often people hold themselves back from achieving their goals because they feel that they aren't "worthy" or "don't have what it takes" etc. We "work out" our confidence muscle by taking scary action, and by pushing past the fear and being courageous. Each time we push through with action, we create confidence in ourselves and our ability.

Your Confidence Muscle Exercise Formula!

  • Set a goal each day to be courageous

  • Write down actions that seem more difficult or scary

  • Organize them in order of hardest, most terrifying etc

  • Start taking action on these items - Do it imperfectly. Gather information if you need to learn. Figure out what your next step is, and take it.

  • Reflect on your action. - How did you feel just starting? Journal lessons learned and things achieved and how it made you feel.

  • Share and celebrate with yourself or loved ones. (Even the smallest actions deserve celebration. It doesn't have to be a big celebration, just a high five is good!)

When you create this excercise plan for building your confidence, you will find it easier and easier to continue to do it, and it can become second nature.

As an example, think of how it felt to learn how to ride a bicycle as a child. Do you remember feeling afraid because you had never done it before? Were you excited? Did you want to be brave?

Perhaps you had training wheels to start, and your parent to hold on to the back as you gave it your first try. Maybe you tried and fell, and scraped a knee or two. Did you decide to get back up? Did you finally learn how to balance and take off on your own?

Once you learned how to "ride a bike" you gained confidence, and now you can get back on with ease and confidence. That's what you do as you exercise your confidence muscle each time you take action and do that thing that scares you or you've never done before.

Do you want to have that confident face like that little girl riding her bicycle?

Are you ready to take on any challenge that comes your way? 💪 Building confidence isn't always easy, but taking messy imperfect action is the first step. 🔥 Whether it's reaching out to that potential client or starting that new side-hustle you've been dreaming about, remember that taking action is what leads to success. So, go out there and show the world what you're made of! 😉
