Your Self Confidence is a Work in Progress

I’ll let you in on a secret…

Confident people are not necessarily confident all the time!

Their secret is consistently learning and training themselves to be their own best cheerleader!

One of the biggest things I have found when working with people with their businesses over the years, is the lack of confidence so many people carry around with them. I’m certainly not a psychologist, but I can share the tools that I use and that I use to help others be more confident in everything that they do.

Here are some of my tools of the trade that I have used over my 30 years of mentoring small biz entrepreneurs to help them have the confidence to achieve their goals.

If you are finding yourself in need of a pep talk, or perhaps PEPE talk (LOL!), these tips can help you get unstuck and lift your spirits.

  1. Accomplishments - Write down your accomplishments, Set a timer for 1 to 5 minutes and brainstorm the things you've accomplished since you were a child. Everything counts. ie: won a race in track, etc.You will find that you’ve done a lot more than you think, and that is definitely a boost to your self esteem and confidence

  2. Affirmations - Search for affirmations and quotes that have meaning for you. Make some up yourself. Start taking screenshots of quotes that make you happy. Google keywords that you gravitate to.

  3. Journal - Write down your accomplishments and affirmations. Add more as you find other positive quotes.

  4. Create a Mojo Morning Routine - I have a template for this that you can grab right here, if you don’t have it already. https://view.flodesk.com/pages/60f72df55124092a6e228fca

  5. Do something scary - What are you afraid of doing? When you face that fear and DO the thing that scares you, you find a renewed confidence in yourself.

  6. Do something you excel at - What are your strengths? What are you really good at? When you do something you are good at, it gives you the confidence to tackle something new, LIKE THAT THING THAT IS SCARING YOU!

  7. Talk Positively - Talk to yourself as a friend would talk to you. Negative self talk is a killer of confidence. Use the third person, such as “You are worthy. You are doing great.” etc.

  8. Move - Do some form of exercise. Even a short walk can improve your outlook, and therefore your confidence. Find exercises that you like and will continue to do. Work on incorporating them into your week.

  9. Community - Find people who cheer you on. Recognition and support from others is a surefire way to boost self confidence. If you are not in our FB Community, Cookin Up Mojo, yet join right here. We spread positivity, confidence and cheer each other on! https://www.facebook.com/groups/cookinupmojo/

  10. Give yourself GRACE - Remember, you don’t have to be perfect. You won’t be confident all of the time. But, if you work at it, you will find that you have more confidence more often than you even thought possible.
